EAST LYNNE THEATER COMPANY
East Lynne Theater Company's Artistic Director to speak at
North Wildwood Beach Writer’s Conference

For the seventh year in a row, the North Wildwood Beach Writers' Conference brings together prestigious and inspiring speakers who discuss the craft of writing.  This year, the dates are June 2 and 3 and the location is the Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk. Co-chairs Carolyn Miller and Jacob Schaad created a schedule of lively sessions with 12 speakers who will discuss such topics as writing for magazines, writing for the Web, and First Amendment issues for writers.
Among the speakers is East Lynne Theater Company's Artistic Director, Gayle Stahlhuth, who will talk about "Writing for the Stage" - from originals to adaptations.  She's received commissions from The Smithsonian Institution, Theatreworks/USA and The Illinois and Missouri Humanities Councils, and grants from The New Jersey Humanities Council.  Her plays have been performed at such places as the NYC International Fringe Festival, The Samuel French One-Act Festival, Manhattan Theatre Club, Arvada Center in Denver, the Pennsylvania Stage Company, the Phoenix Theater in Indianapolis, and The East Lynne Theater Company, located in Cape May, which was recently voted one of the top two Equity professional theaters in the state in The People's Choice Awards, sponsored by Discover Jersey Arts.  This is the second time she's been asked to speak at this conference.
Other exciting presenters include: John Riddle, the founder of "I Love to Write Day;" John Harnish of Infinity Publishing; Charis Conn, contributing editor at "Harper's Magazine;" Jim Vanore, author of "Beware the Leaven;" and Patricia MacDonald, whose latest work, of many, is "Stolen in the Night: A Novel."
Attendees will receive goody-bags at registration, and door prizes will be awarded at the dinner. The Grand Prize - a publishing package valued at $700 from Infinity Publishing - will be awarded to the attendee whose book or project is ready (or close to ready) for publication.
The cost of the two-day conference is $75, which includes all presentations, a dinner and continental breakfast. Attendees may bring a guest to dinner for an additional $30. The deadline to register is May 22.
BUT there is a deadline of May 8 for those who wish to be part of the Writing Contest in the two categories of Poetry and Essay/Article, which includes cash prizes, and the opportunity to have your work evaluated in a one-on-one 15-minute session for an additional $25 fee.
