Hello and welcome to our newsletter. The weather is already warming up and we hope that you are using our services in order to help you plan your GREAT VACATION for 2009! Our network of information is growing everyday and we are happy to provide you with tons of useful information to get you started with your plans. It is time to start voting for your favorite pictures entered in the 2008 photo contest (see below). So many GREAT VACATION images were sent to us this year and we hope that this coming season will be even better! We are currently working on the 2009 GREAT VACATION GUIDE to be placed in 10,000 guest rooms at the Jersey Shore in 2009. VERY EXCITING!! | All of our camping enthusiasts can now search for campgrounds located in the States of New Jersey and Delaware on our newest site GreatVacationCampgrounds.com. We are currently adding Maryland to our search page and they will be available very soon! The site is a work in progress, but it does have the necessary information to help you find the best camping facilities for your liking. East Lynne Theater Company East Lynne Theater Company will have two audition days of open calls for Equity actors. On Friday, April 3, from 11:30 PM to 7:30 PM, the call will be at the theater’s venue, The First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St., Cape May, NJ, which is about a three-and-a-half hour drive south of NYC. All of the rehearsals will be in Cape May. Sign-up for auditions begin at 11:00 and continue through 7:25, with a meal-break from 3:30-4:30 PM. On Wednesday, April 22, from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, the call will be at the Actors’ Equity Audition Center, 165 West 46th St., 2nd Floor, NYC. Lunch break is from 1-2 PM. Non-union actors will be seen as long as no Equity actors are kept waiting. The company operates under an Equity SPT 3 Contract with rehearsals beginning on Monday two weeks before the opening-performance week, and a Wednesday through Saturday night performance schedule, with two exceptions that are noted below. Artistic Director, Gayle Stahlhuth will be at both auditions, and Karen Case Cook will be at the NYC audition. Actors are asked to audition with a brief humorous monologue, or read from “Alice on the Edge,” “The Ransom of Red Chief,” or “The Butter and Egg Man.” Sides will be available at the auditions. Visually-impaired performers may request an advance copy of the sides by e-mailing eastlynneco@aol.com. A reader will be provided for those auditioning with sides. Seeking actors for the following productions: “Alice on the Edge,” four provocative one-acts by Alice Gerstenberg written between 1915-1922, running from June 17-July 25 (no performance on Sat. July 4, but added show on Sun. July 5), directed by Karen Case Cook; “The Ransom of Red Chief,” adapted from O. Henry and directed by Gayle Stahlhuth, running from July 29-Sept. 5 (no performance on Thurs. Aug. 27, but added show on Sun. Aug. 30); and “The Butter and Egg Man,” written by Pulitzer Prize-winner George S. Kaufman in 1925, about two producers who will do anything to get funding for their show, running from September 23-October 24, directed by Gayle Stahlhuth. “Alice on the Edge”(each actor will be in at least 2 of the 4 one-acts and which will be playing which role will not be decided until individual one-acts are cast: “Fourteen:” MRS. HORACE PRINGLE a fashionable woman, who is concerned about her dinner party, range 45-55; ELAINE her practical daughter, a debutante, age range 20-25; and DUNHAM: the maid or butler, any age; “The Illuminati in Drama Libre:” HE moves well with a great sense of timing, age range 35-50; and SHE moves well with a great sense of timing, age range 25-50; “Overtones:” HARRIET a cultured woman; HETTY her primitive self; MARGARET a cultured woman; and MAGGIE her primitive self; “He Said and She Said:” DIANA CHESBROUGH a young woman in love with a soldier fighting in The Great War, age range 20-25; ENID HALDEMAN her friend, age range 35-45; FELIX HALDEMAN her loving husband, age range 35-45; and MRS. CYRUS PACKARD a gossipy neighbor, age range 35-55. “The Ransom of Red Chief:” SAMANTHA a good-natured thief and storyteller, age range 35-50; BILL her partner, also a good-natured thief and storyteller, must have a back strong enough for a 12-year old to sit comfortably, age range 35-50; and NARRATOR/PRUDENCE/ PRUNELLA PICKLE - age range nonspecific, looking for an actor who can play guitar, banjo or violin, but the most important ingredient is still the storytelling, and it is not necessary to bring instrument to the open call. Non-Union performers are already cast in the roles of Johnny Dorset and his father, Ebeneezer. “The Butter and Egg Man:” JOE LEHMAN producer who is accustomed to getting his way, age range 35-55; JACK MCCLURE producer who is not as fast a talker as Joe, but almost, age range 35-55; FANNY LEHMAN Joe’s wife, extremely poised, smart, and had spent several years on the stage; age range 35-50; JANE WESTON Joe’s secretary who is very bright, age range 25-35; MARY MCMARTIN playing the leading lady one more time even though if she forgets a line it is everyone’s fault but hers, age range 45-55; PETER JONES - a nice guy who learns a bit more about the world during the course of the play, age range 25-35; CECIL BENHAM English director, age range 35-60; and OSCAR FRITCHIE impressionable, age range 35-55. The East Lynne Theater Company is committed to nontraditional casting and equal employment opportunities.
