Edition 6, Volume 2
March 15 , 2007
Today's Date:
Welcome to our Newsletter...

A happy “Ides of March” to you. It’s a good day – except for Julius Ceasar: it was a real bummer of a day for him - “Et tu Brute´” Bill Shakespeare wrote about Julius and Brutus in the Roman Forum. Anyway, the middle of March is a great time of year because we’re only days away from the first day of spring, and the Great Vacation newsletter is gearing up for a successful season for vacationers from near and far.

Take a deep breath and smell the flowers. Sure, it’s a bit early but you can pretend that spring is in full bloom and that summer isn’t far behind. While this hasn’t been the worst winter we’ve had, it has been pretty cold for the last few weeks and warm temperatures will be most welcomed. The clocks have already been set ahead, earlier than what used to be considered “normal,” so the days may seem a little longer thanks to “springing” forward.

If you missed it in our last issue please (click here) for the link to our Lodging Guide. The guide asks a list of comprehensive questions that will help anyone plan a great vacation. If you haven’t mailed our newsletter to other folks, do so now and spread the information. After all, it’s FREE – and few things are free these days.

Check out the information we have in this issue on things to do, places to stay, dine, shop and have fun. See the list of entertainers coming to the Atlantic City casino/hotels, and don’t miss the attractions throughout the area. See the photo galleries (click here), and send us your favorite shore photos, too. See the details following in this issue. March is half gone! Can summer days be far behind?

Sincerely,
The Editors

For Your Information...

Lavallette, New Jersey

One of the loveliest shore towns is Lavallette, New Jersey, located on the Barnegat Peninsula that separates Barnegat Bay from the Atlantic Ocean, and home to another of the boardwalks that grace the New Jersey shoreline.

Located in Ocean County, Lavallette was incorporated in 1887 from portions of Dover Township (now Toms River Township), and it is home to 2,665 residents (2000 Census), on about a square mile of the barrier island. Lavallette has great beauty in all directions – on the bay as well as on the ocean, and its non-commercial boardwalk stretches for 28 blocks. It is ideal for walkers, whether they’re “power” or simply strollers.

Lavallette is also home to a waterfront park that’s ideal for family picnics. It also features two piers perfect for fishing and crabbing, and two launch ramps for boats, plus a guarded beach ready for swimming. Because of strategically located sandbars off the Atlantic shore, it’s also a good spot for surfers.  Another great spot is the picturesque gazebo on the bay - the best place to watch the setting sun.

Lavallette features shops and restaurants to serve visitors and locals alike. To sum it up, you’ll like it in lovely Lavallette, another great stop along the New Jersey coast. (click here)
