   The Ocean City, New Jersey Visitor Information Center is located on the 9th Street Bridge Causeway. This is the place to begin your great vacation, weekend getaway, or day trip.  Please make of note of the following important information:

The Beach: Beach tags are required, and they’re available for purchase at the Information Center, as well as at a variety of convenient locations. They may be purchased at a discount prior to the Memorial Day weekend.

Always do your swimming where you see lifeguards on duty. City ordinances and officials have designated appropriate areas where surfboards, rafts and floats can be used.

Surf fishing is permitted in bathing areas, but only during non-bathing hours.

Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on public beaches, and sleeping on public beaches between sunset and sunrise is also prohibited.

Restrooms: Public restrooms may be found on the boardwalk in the Music Pier on Moorlyn Terrace and Boardwalk, and at 1st, 6th,  and 12th streets. Restrooms are also available on the beach at 34th and 58th streets, and there is a bathhouse at 13th Street and the Boardwalk, where showers may be taken for a reasonable fee, and towels and other shower items are available.

Boardwalk: For safety purposes, shoes, sandals or other protective devices must be worn while on the boardwalk, and it is unlawful to climb or stand on benches, railings or fences on the boardwalk. Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas.

Boating: Boaters are required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved Type 1,11, 111 or V hybrid personal flotation device when aboard watercraft. The municipal boat ramp is located on Tennessee Avenue near the airport, and it’s open April 1 through October 31. Ice cream, soda and ice are available, as well as bait and other fishing accessories. Daily and seasonal launch fees are $10.00 and $100.00 respectively based on the class and size of the boat.

Municipal Airport: 25th Street and Bay Avenue.  Fully functional with pilot supplies, gift shop, and a restaurant open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch. A 15-minute walk to the beach and boardwalk, the airport offers showers for airport guests.

Winter:    8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Parking: Municipal Lots: 8th, 9th & 14th Streets.

Parking meters are in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for Asbury Avenue to 14th Street - $.25 cents per hour/two hour limit.

Parking meters: Atlantic Avenue between 8th & 15th Streets - $.25 for 20 minutes, with a 4-hour limit from 9:00 a.m. until Midnight.

              There are also private parking lots available.
